Catherine, a troubled young woman, has spent years caring for her brilliant but unstable father, a math professor at The University of Chicago. In the ensuing struggles, a mysterious notebook surfaces to draw Catherine into the most difficult problem of all: How much of her father’s madness – or genius – will she inherit?

Winner of the 2001 Pulitzer Prize for Drama and Tony Award for Best Play, PROOF is a compelling drama with elements of mystery, romance, and old-fashioned storytelling. It was made into a major motion picture in 2005 starring Gwyneth Paltrow, Anthony Hopkins, and Jake Gyllenhaal.
